Finding Peace in the Chaos
We live in a world that rarely slows down. Phones buzz, news cycles spin endlessly, and schedules overflow. Chaos seems to be the new normal. Yet into this whirlwind, Jesus offers something radically different: peace. Not just any peace, but “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7).
Peace doesn’t come from the absence of problems. True peace is not found in a perfectly quiet house, a balanced to-do list, or the right circumstances. Real peace is found in the Person of Jesus Christ. His presence brings calm even when the storm around us rages on.
Think of Peter walking on water. As long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus, he stood firm. But the moment he looked at the wind and waves, fear sank him. The same is true for us. Chaos grows when we fixate on circumstances; peace grows when we fix our eyes on Christ.
- Practical ways to invite peace into your day:
- Begin your morning in prayer, before the world has a chance to rush in.
- Practice breathing prayers—simple moments of inhaling peace and exhaling worry.
- Read and declare Scriptures that remind you of God’s promises.
- Protect quiet spaces in your life, even if it’s just five minutes of stillness.
The world says, “Hurry, push, strive.” Jesus says, “Come to me…and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). The more we abide in Him, the more we discover peace is not dependent on what happens around us—it’s anchored in who is within us.
