Day 6 — The Gift of Compassion
Share
Scripture:
“When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them.”
— Matthew 9:36 (NKJV)
A Love Letter from the Father
Beloved,
Compassion was born the night My Son cried His first tears.
He felt the cold you feel, the hunger you know, the ache that shadows your heart.
He came near so that pain would never again be endured alone.
When I looked upon the world, I did not see statistics or failures — I saw faces.
I saw you.
So I clothed Myself in humanity and walked among you.
Every sigh of My Son was the sound of Heaven bending low.
Compassion is not pity from afar; it is love that enters the mess.
It kneels beside the weary, washes dust from tired feet,
and says, “You are still worth My touch.”
When you extend compassion, you resemble Me more than you know.
Beloved, the world teaches distance.
It says guard your heart, count the cost, protect your comfort.
But I whisper, “Break your heart for what breaks Mine.”
Do not be afraid of feeling deeply — that is where My image lives.
The manger was not sterile.
It was rough, noisy, uncomfortable — yet filled with glory.
Let your heart be that manger: open, humble, willing to welcome need.
When you love someone who cannot repay you, you build a cradle for My presence.
I will fill your compassion with power.
A gentle word can steady a life.
A quiet act of mercy can echo through generations.
Do not underestimate what a single kindness can heal.
So today, look again.
See the lonely neighbor, the anxious child, the tired cashier.
Let your eyes soften the way Mine do when they find you.
Every time you reach out, you reenact Bethlehem.
Call to Worship
