Welcome to our family, Above The Rest Store! We are Ginny Drake and Janet Heminger, a niece and aunt duo, united by our faith and a shared calling to serve the Lord. With a combined 64 years of experience in ministry, our journey has been deeply rooted in the love of God, love for people, and the belief in the transformative power of kindness, service, and faith. Our mission is simple: to bring quality products that reflect our faith, and we see every customer as a part of our family.
Ginny, married to Chuck Drake, is a devoted wife, mother of two (a son and a daughter), grandmother of five, and a lover of animals. With a heart for family, Ginny lives by the belief that the love we show to those closest to us should reflect the love Christ has shown us. Her life is a testament to 1 Timothy 5:8: “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”
Janet, married to Rob Heminger, is a passionate servant of God, with one precious fur baby. Janet attended Rhema Bible Training Center, where she was licensed and ordained. Over the years, she has served in various ministries, always prioritizing the needs of others. Her life is grounded in the scripture Philippians 2:4: “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Janet’s service to others has been a direct outpouring of the love she has for the Lord and the compassion she feels for others in the body of Christ.
At the heart of our business is our deep, unshakable love for God, people, and animals of all kinds. Our love for God is first, for as Matthew 22:37-39 reminds us, “Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" We understand that our actions are a reflection of God’s love for us, and we seek to embody this in every aspect of our business.
We believe that all people are created in God’s image, and we count our customers not just as clients, but as family. Romans 12:10 tells us to “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” This scripture is the foundation of how we view our relationships with our customers and community. It is not just about business—it’s about fostering relationships built on trust, respect, and shared values.
We also recognize the deep responsibility we have as stewards of God’s creation. Our love for animals is not just a personal passion but a calling that aligns with Proverbs 12:10: “The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.” Whether it’s our own pets or supporting those who care for animals in need, we strive to reflect God’s love in all His creation.
As part of our commitment to giving back, the Upcycle 2030 Project embodies our core belief that business success should create meaningful impact beyond profit. By dedicating 20% of our sales to nonprofits across the United States that serve the underserved with their basic needs, we're living out our commitment to rise above the rest—not just in product quality, but in our responsibility to our communities.
